April 11-14th, 2023

Happy Friday! Well happy might not be the best word to describe how our class is feeling today. Today we are saying thank you and goodbye to Mr. I. He has successfully completed his practicum and will begin as a substitute teacher for the CBE in the upcoming weeks. We are so grateful for his time with us, his calm presence and passion for math and science.

This week we:

-Learned about the similarities/differences in local government in urban and rural locations.

-Finished publishing our essays. There are a few students who are not finished. Please follow up with your child to see if it pertains to them!

-Recorded and watched our Bill Nye inspired chemistry videos.

-Caught up with our book clubs. Books are to be finished for Wednesday and then we will begin our final project next week.

-Worked on our string art and personal reflection.

-Grade 6 math finished patterns and algebra. We will be moving into geometry next.

-Ms. Roa's math group finished fractions and decimals. There is a marked math check in that was sent home. They will also be starting geometry.

-Mrs. C's math group is worked on fractions and decimals and played a game with unifix cubes.

-We had our first day of inline skating. We skate again on Tuesday and Thursday.

-Field trip forms went home Thursday for Step Afrika! Please return signed (there are 2 spots to sign) by Wednesday. Payment was included as part of the fees for Art School.

Have a great weekend.
