January 16-20, 2023

What an incredible week of exploration and creating! Our 4 days at art school were amazing. I am sure students came home each day with plenty to share. Some of our highlights were:

-Riding in the freight elevator.

-Walking across the lighting grid in the Martha Cohen Theatre (the clancy).

-Exploring underground and all the pipes in the Arts Commons building.

-Getting our own personal harmonicas (sorry parents!)

-Working with Kevin Burt and hearing his music. He was also a great harmonica teacher.

-Having the TV crew there!

-Learning how lighting in the theatre works.

-Jack Singer Concert Hall and its amazing pipe organ (6040 pipes to be exact!)

-Creating our own optical illusion.

-Collaborative string art installation.

-Capturing our days by creating event maps.

-Stretching our thinking by connecting different words to our big question of "How do we care for the things we love?"

-We got to use lockers!

-Playing down at Olympic Plaza.

-Riding the school bus.

-Our movement instructor Julie.

I have posted a variety of pictures and videos in the Google Classroom. Please log in over the weekend and take a look. Thank you again volunteers for all your help this week. I really appreicate you! We also should be on the news tonight between 6-7pm on Global.

Have a fabulous weekend!
